COVID-19 Update: Custody Visitation and Stay-at-Home Order by Hunt Wofford

Several clients have called or emailed to ask about whether visitation with their children will be suspended as a result of Mecklenburg County’s recent Stay at Home Order. The short answer is: No. Visitation should proceed as directed in your custody order. From the Mecklenburg County Communications Manager:

Travel required by law enforcement or court order, including to transport children pursuant to a custody agreement, is considered essential.
